Upcoming EventsThe Central Auto Racing Boosters Hall of Fame and Museum, Inc. have some great fundraisers coming up. More details will be forth coming very soon. A couple of raffles, one for a 360 crate motor donated by McCarthy, and a Shocker Chassis donated by Mr. Peeler, and dinner out at Lone Star, and all for a good cause. Money raised will benefit the future home for the Central Auto Racing Boosters Hal...l of Fame and Museum, Inc.. This club has had and continues to get donations of many historical racing artifacts from around the Kansas City area for many years from individuals, families, and race fans. We are gaining momentum working toward a place to display all these wonderful items and articles from our past racing history and all of those individuals who have been inducted into the Central Auto Racing Boosters Hall of Fame. Very exciting times for our group. HOF May 2013 Newsletter
Exciting things have been taking place with the Central Auto Racing Boosters Hall of Fame and Museum, Inc. in the last month. We are officially a 501 (C) (3) as of December 17, 2012.
Since the beginning of the Hall of Fame the inductees have been looking for a place other than the Hall of Fame trailer where they could send family and friends to see their accomplishments. While our goals are to raise funds to build our own building, the most important item is to establish a museum.
The current owners at Lakeside Speedway have approved Central Auto Racing Boosters Hall of Fame and Museum, Inc. to use the upper room behind suites 7, 8 and 9 to establish the museum today with the following requirements, the organization be responsible to paint this area, establish and maintain the museum displays and display cases, provide workers, tour guides, etc. to oversee the museum. Our goal right now is to get this room ready. We would like to get this completed in time for NASCAR weekend (October 5 and 6, 2013). We hope to draw fans and supporters from other states. We will also be working with the racing community for displays obtaining our history. Please contact Karen Darling at 660-229-0952 if you can help in any way. We also have some great fund raisers that will be starting in a couple of weeks.
McCarthy Chevrolet has donated a 602 crate engine to be raffled with all proceeds benefitting the Hall of Fame. The drawing will take place at the CARB Banquet on December 7, 2013. We are in the process of preparing tickets which we will sell for $10 each. You will be able to purchase these from any Central Auto Racing Boosters Hall of Fame and Museum, Inc. board member or CARB board member. The Hall of Fame would like to thank Mike and Barry of McCarthy Chevrolet for doing this.
Longhorn Steak House at the Legends and Christy’s Tasty Queen is working with us on a night out for the Hall of Fame and Museum, Inc. where 15% of each sale with a certificate will go to the Hall of Fame. More information on dates when we get them. We are also working on a Bike /Car Show with more information to follow.
